Belvica trout (Salmo ohridanus) was first described in 1892 by the Austrian zoologist and ichthyologist Franz Steindachner (1834 – 1919). The recorded maximum length is 33.6 cm. The maximum weight is 685 grams. It feeds on invertebrates, zooplankton and small fishes.

It’s the endemic of Lake Ohrid (Albania, Macedonia).
